Everyone loves King Edward! He is a mentor to many of the younger royals and he loved Miriam, no doubt about it。 But when an beneficial opportunity presents itself, both Edward and Penny, know it makes sense。 I love catching up with other characters and knowing that Edward will be happy with Penelope。

I have to tell you when I first read that King Edwards' wife Queen Miriam died I was very upset。 They had a deep and timeless love from reading previous books about the offspring。 I was sad and mad。 But, the author has redeemed herself with this book。 I liked that both the characters, Edward and Penelope, were still grieving their spouses。 But, knowing the future they both looked beyond themselves in their own grief and united to help others。 It was good to know that they were good friends befor I have to tell you when I first read that King Edwards' wife Queen Miriam died I was very upset。 They had a deep and timeless love from reading previous books about the offspring。 I was sad and mad。 But, the author has redeemed herself with this book。 I liked that both the characters, Edward and Penelope, were still grieving their spouses。 But, knowing the future they both looked beyond themselves in their own grief and united to help others。 It was good to know that they were good friends before this and they developed their good friendship into a sunset love。 I liked knowing that Penelope was still dealing with physical issues from the shipwreck。 It felt very real。I will always real Carol Moncado's book。 She is an author that I love her writing and her character styling。 I enjoy that the books all interlock some。 Not enough that you are missing big details but characters will occasionally pop up again。 Looking for her next hit! 。。。more

As I’ve gotten older, I find I enjoy books that use more mature characters in romance stories。 Not everyone is 20+ and finding love for the first time。 The author creatively writes a story where two people emerge from an overwhelming tragedy and learn to love again。 Some of the issues are the same as a younger person but there is often more depth and history that needs to be addressed。 This is all true in this book。 Pick it up…you’ll love it。

Excellent I was super sad when I saw who the main character was。 I mean, I knew about the death, but still。 This was a lovely story。 I really enjoyed the growth in the characters and seeing people move on from a tragedy。 It was great。

Wonderful storyAs usual the writer tells this story with interesting detail letting us get to know her characters from the inside。 My only complaint is that it was way too short。

When life threw King Edward for a loop with the death of his beloved Queen Miriam, he didn’t know if he’d ever get his heart back to find joy again。The same boating accident that killed Queen Miriam also killed the Duke of Kenworth and injured his wife Penelope。 They all had been friends for a long while but Penelope and Edward haven’t seen each other since before that fateful day。 Now, it seems life is going to throw them together in the strangest ways。 Can these two find peace, comfort, and lo When life threw King Edward for a loop with the death of his beloved Queen Miriam, he didn’t know if he’d ever get his heart back to find joy again。The same boating accident that killed Queen Miriam also killed the Duke of Kenworth and injured his wife Penelope。 They all had been friends for a long while but Penelope and Edward haven’t seen each other since before that fateful day。 Now, it seems life is going to throw them together in the strangest ways。 Can these two find peace, comfort, and love after the losses they’ve had?So, Carol Moncado has done it again, and this is a much-needed story。 A few books ago we were all shocked when we heard about the death of Queen Miriam and the grieving of King Edward。 I personally was sad because their story and love were so real。 But now, I’m pleased to read this story and see the tender reuniting of Edward and Penelope’s hearts。 This story is set in the “royal” world, but it deals with so much more。 It touches on the deep pain of losing a loved one, the struggles of physical pain and recovery, and the battles of wanting to find joy and love again, but not feeling like it’s a betrayal to the love you lost。 This story was very well written and tender with the deep emotions all these characters felt。So, if you LOVE reading stories regarding royalty and all that life can bring, then you really need to pick this book up and read it! You won't be disappointed。I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

Most of the drama of this story happens before chapter 1, so it has a different flavor from some of Moncado’s other books (which have dramatic plot twists and lots of action)。 This is more contemplative as the two who have lost their first loves (in the drama before the book begins) get to know each other, work through their losses, and fall in love。 I really enjoyed reading it。 However, I was shocked when I turned a page and it was already the Epilogue! It felt like the story was just getting going :-) Thankfully, Moncado’s epilogue is a long one and chock full of the things I was waiting to see develop。 。。。more
